About Net Zero
Since 2012, Net Zero has provided energy-efficiency services across Ireland — commercial BER certificates, Part L / NZEB compliance, and energy upgrades for both commercial and residential buildings. We work with estate agents, Building Owners, property professionals, and the construction sector, and provide BER certificates for property sales, lettings, and ESG reporting.
Net Zero’s reputation in the industry is built on a commitment to detail, the ability to quickly identify the optimal solution whatever the constraints, and the ease with which we work alongside other members of the project team.
With backgrounds in both architecture and engineering, Net Zero’s senior personnel are passionate about improving energy efficiency, whether for a new build or a retrofit. They understand how each element of a build affects another, which enables them to achieve high energy ratings at the lowest possible cost.

Brian Byrne
Managing Director
Brian Byrne, the founder of Net Zero graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BAI in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Mathematics. He then went on to graduate from the Dublin Institute of Technology with first class honours in an MSc in Business and Entrepreneurship and was awarded the gold medal for achieving the highest overall grade.
Subsequently, Brian worked with a company specialising in commercial BER certificates, gaining extensive experience in the energy rating industry as well as in the production of land registry compliant maps before setting up Net Zero in 2012. Brian has been specialising primarily in commercial BER certificates and new build residential developments since 2009. This unparalleled experience means that Brian can carry out energy assessments promptly, efficiently and accurately.
In addition to producing BER certificates, Brian advises architects and engineers on ensuring their designs meet the energy requirements of the building regulations. He also carries out detailed energy audits for homeowners and advises them on energy upgrades and the grants available for these.
Brian is registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to carry out both domestic and non-domestic energy assessments as well as technical assessments.
